DOWN EAST CYCLISTS

ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT

 

1.  The Down East Cyclists are a group of likeminded people, promoting safe cycling for everyone.

 

2.  The officers of the club will be elected officials holding the positions of; President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasure.  The following applies to club elections:

 

  1. Elections will be held once a year during the month of October.
  2. There will be announcements in the club newsletter, at the monthly meeting and on the web site soliciting nominations prior to the elections.
  3. All club members present at the October meeting will be the voting members for the election.
  4. Members unable to attend the October meeting may vote by absentee ballot.
  5. If for any reason an official cannot complete the full year in office, an announcement will be made at the monthly meeting soliciting a new nomination.  A special vote will then be held at the following meeting to fill the office.

 

3.  The club will meet once a month at a predetermined location.  At each meeting we will introduce new members, receive updates on finances, present awards, and discuss new events and ideas centered around cycling.  The following schedule of events is suggested for each meeting:

 

  1. Introductions
  2. Finance Report
  3. Mileage Report
  4. Presentation of Awards
  5. Old Business
  6. New Business
  7. Adjourn

 

4.   Monies collected through dues and special events will be used to pay for club functions, supplies and awards.  Other money issues will be entertained at monthly meetings and voted on.  Two club members as established by the banking institution must sign checks issued by the Down East Cyclists account. 

 

5.  If the Down East Cyclists were to disband, all monies remaining after paying expenses will be donated to the American Red Cross.

 

6.  All club members agree that club functions are completely voluntary and take full responsibility for any accidents or mishaps that occur to them.  Members cannot hold liable other club members, club officials, the US Government, Government Employees, medical personnel, military personnel, the Commanding General, The President of the United States, or anyone assisting with a particular event.

 

** I agree to all of these articles and sign this agreement of my own free will.
